Chisolm Davis, Ph.D. is a native of Columbia, South Carolina and was hired as
the Executive Director of the Rural Crossroads Institute (RCI) in April
of 2000. The Rural Crossroads
institute is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower rural South
Carolina communities to implement best practices and share solutions by
promoting economic development and growth.
RCI is located within the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
Dr. Chisolm Davis also worked at the SC Department of Commerce as an Economic
Development Manager for many years. She was the 2001-02 President of Business Retention and Expansion International (BREI www.brei.org) an international economic development organization that focuses on providing resources, tools, training, best practices and networking opportunities for those involved in business retention and expansion activities around the world. She received a Honorary Lifetime Certified Master Consultant Award by BREI in May 2003. She was selected as an Emissary to Australia and traveled to Sydney, Brisbane, Queensland, New South Wales, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth to speak about community and economic development initiatives and opportunities. She received the George W. Morse Distinguished Service Award from BREI in June, 2005. Dr. Chisolm Davis has nearly 20 years of experience in the field of Business and Education. She taught over 15 different Marketing and Management courses at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and Webster University in Columbia, South Carolina. She serves on numerous boards in the state of South Carolina and have received several awards and commendations for her outstanding work in the field of community and economic development. She believes that communities around the world are being faced with an ever changing economy and must be prepared for quality community and economic development. |
